Chris Musgrave has welcomed a land deal at Wynyard Park set to bring additional jobs and millions of pounds of further investment to the Teesside region.
National housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has accelerated plans for a second phase of housing at the exclusive development between Hartlepool and Stockton on Tees, injecting a projected £6m into the Hartlepool economy and creating over 80 new jobs during a four year construction period.
The deal follows hot on the heels of the huge success of Taylor Wimpey’s initial scheme and will create a further 109 high quality family homes within the 180 acre woodland setting of the highly sought-after location of Wynyard Park. Taylor Wimpey has agreed an Employment Charter in order to guarantee that the jobs its new development is creating will be for local people.
The scheme will deliver a welcome financial boost for Hartlepool including around £1.5m in New Homes Bonus payments to Hartlepool Council over 6 years as well as £2.9m in council tax over the next decade. In addition, the proposals will make a financial contribution of just over £1m toward the delivery of affordable housing in Hartlepool.
